The Division of Materials and Waste Management implements Ohio's solid waste, infectious waste, hazardous waste, and construction and demolition debris programs. In addition to a traditional regulatory program, the division’s core responsibilities will include resources dedicated to research and promotion of emerging concepts and technologies associated with resource conservation, materials management, and sustainability. The division will continue to oversee state and local planning for long-term solid waste management.
