Ohio EPA to Hold Meeting About Clean Waters Draft Air Permit

Ohio EPA will hold a public meeting on Aug. 28, 2012 to accept comments about a draft air permit-to-install for proposed new emission sources at Clean Water Ltd., 300 Cherokee Drive, Dayton. The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Jefferson Township meeting Room, One Business Park Drive, Dayton

Clean Water processes wastes from off site for recovery or disposal. The permit-to-install would cover the installation of new sources: cone tank, sludge press discharge tank and sludge press roll off container. Clean Water currently is permitted to emit 24.4 tons per year of volatile organic compounds. If approved, this permit would add an additional 2.5 tons per year for a facility-wide 26.9 tons per year.

Ohio EPA places a high priority on public involvement and encourages citizens to become involved in the decision-making process. During the information session, Ohio EPA’s contractual representative for administering air pollution laws in Montgomery County (RAPCA) will explain the draft permit and answer questions about it. During the hearing, the public can submit comments for the record that will be considered before Ohio EPA issues or denies the final permit.

Public Comments

In addition to comments provided at the Aug. 28 public meeting, Ohio EPA will equally consider written comments received through, Sept. 7.
