Ohio EPA Awards $5,000 Environmental Education Grant to Cuyahoga County Organization
Students will have the opportunity to study birds at Hathaway Brown School’s 16-acre suburban campus funded in part with a $5,000 Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant to the school. A total of seven grants were awarded statewide for $32,319.

Lake County Stormwater Management Department will focus on reducing polluted runoff to area streams through its program “Training & Education Materials for Municipal Staff” funded, in part, with a $4,986 Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant. Teachers at Symmes Elementary School will receive training to conduct scientific inquiry and monitoring of the nature trail at Sycamore Community Schools’ nine-acre wooded watershed, funded in part with a $3,447 Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant to the school. A total of seven grants were awarded statewide for $32,319.

Clark County teachers will have an opportunity to take Healthy Water Healthy People and Wonders of Wetlands training, funded in part with a $4,050 Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant to the Clark County Solid Waste District. A total of seven grants were awarded statewide for $32,319.

Public Hearing Will Address General Permit for Petroleum-Related Corrective Actions
Ohio EPA is accepting comments from the public on a draft general permit to regulate wastewater discharges associated with petroleum-related corrective actions. Qualifying general permit applications would apply to incidents that minimally impact water quality.
