March 9, 2016 Public Hearing Set for Otway Wastewater Discharge and Engineering Permits
Ohio EPA will present information and receive testimony at a public hearing for a proposed project that would establish sewer service in the village of Otway and discharge treated wastewater to Bloody Run, just above the confluence with Scioto Brush Creek. The information session and hearing will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016, in the Portsmouth Public Library, 1220 Gallia St., Portsmouth.
January 15, 2016 Ohio EPA Opens Public Comment Period for Draft Air Permit for the Salineville Compressor Station
Ohio EPA is accepting public comments until February 16, 2016 on a draft air permit for a proposed natural gas compressor station in the Salineville area of Columbiana County. The compressor station would be located near Yellow Creek Road and is intended to facilitate delivery of natural gas along the Nexus Gas Transmission (NGT) pipeline.

September 1, 2015 Ohio EPA Considers Allowing General Permits for Compressor Stations; Opens Pre-Comment Period for Interested Parties
Requesting feedback from interested parties, Ohio EPA today announced a “pre-comment period” related to the Agency’s drafts of general permits for oil and natural gas mid-stream compressor stations. Currently, air emissions at these facilities are subject to more lengthy case-by-case permits. By contrast, applications for general permits follow a template and can be issued for common pieces of equipment that (as a result of specific engineering and conditions) have more predictable emissions characteristics.

April 9, 2015 Grants Help Recycling Partnerships, Support Ohio’s Glass Manufacturers
Ohio EPA is awarding more than $459,298 in grants to help direct waste glass that would end up in landfills to Ohio’s manufacturers in the form of cullet – clean bits of ground jars, bottles and windows. Ohio manufacturers need recycled glass to produce new glass products,
including glass bottles and fiberglass. About 90 percent of glass containers used in Ohio ends up in landfills. Using recycled glass costs less than using raw materials by reducing energy demands.

Ohio EPA will hold a public information session and hearing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, to accept comments related to water quality impacts associated with rebuilding the Lake White dam and State Route 104 in Pike County outside Waverly.
