Availability of Draft Redesignation Request and Maintenance Plan for the Cleveland 2012 Annual PM2.5 Nonattainment Area
June 12, 2018: Ohio EPA is providing for public comment a draft redesignation request and maintenance plan for the Cleveland 2012 Annual PM2.5 Nonattainment Area. Air quality monitoring data collected between 2015 and 2017 in the nonattainment area demonstrates attainment of the NAAQS and there is evidence that the improved air quality is due to permanent, enforceable emission reductions. In addition, existing requirements are sufficient to maintain the 2012 Annual PM2.5 standard in this area at least ten years into the future. Due to this evidence DAPC will be asking U.S. EPA to redesignate the Cleveland, OH area as attainment for the 2012 Annual PM2.5 standard and approve Ohio's maintenance plan.
Ohio EPA will be providing a public comment period on the draft plan through July 17, 2018. A public hearing on this action may be requested by contacting Holly Kaloz at (614) 644-3632 or firstname.lastname@example.org no later than July 17, 2018. If a public hearing is requested, a new notification will be published to identify the time and location of the public hearing. The public hearing will be held at least 30 days after the date of the new notification. For information on how to submit comments or request a hearing please refer to the public notice.
