Water Quality Management Plans (Clean Water Act Sections 208 and 303) - Updates for 2012, Proposed Revisions to Six Water Quality Management (208) Plans

Notice is hereby given that the Director of Environmental Protection is considering updates to the water quality management plans, as required by Sections 303 and 208 of the Clean Water Act, for six Areawide Councils of Government (COGs). Pursuant to applicable regulations, the State of Ohio has authority to certify that the documents include the required plan elements, are consistent with one another, and are consistent with basin plans. These plans describe and promote efficient and comprehensive programs for controlling water pollution from point and nonpoint sources in a defined geographic area.

Updated 208 Plans are being proposed by the following Areawide COGs:

  • Eastgate Regional Council of Governments;
  • Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments;
  • Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments;
  • Northeast Ohio Four County Regional Planning and Development Organization;
  • Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission; and
  • Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency.
