Ohio EPA has announced the state’s new guidelines for eating fish caught from Ohio’s lakes, rivers and streams. Fish can be part of a healthy diet. Unless otherwise notated in the new recommendations, a general advisory is in place that recommends limiting to one meal each week of Ohio-caught fish.
April 27, 2018 Alternative Fuels Vehicle Conversion Grants Still Available
Ohio EPA is offering one-time funding to help municipalities, schools and businesses convert diesel-powered heavy-duty fleet vehicles to run on cleaner burning alternative fuels. Fifteen grants have been awarded so far with $2.2 million still available.
April 2, 2018 2017 Western Lake Erie Monitoring Study Shows High Phosphorous Levels
The Spring 2017 Western Lake Erie Tributary Water Monitoring Summary, released today, again shows high levels of phosphorous headed to Lake Erie. Exacerbated by wet weather, the total phosphorus load in the Maumee River was elevated to more than twice the required reduction targets (40 percent by 2025) identified in the Binational Water Quality Agreement.
March 22, 2018 Ohio EPA Issues Latest Water Quality Report
Today, Ohio EPA released the draft 2018 water quality report that outlines the general condition of Ohio’s waters and includes a list that identifies impaired waters that are not meeting their federal or state water quality goals, as well as waters that have improved to meet federal standards.
