Ohio EPA is accepting applications for $3.25 million in grants for publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations. Eligible applicants include public or private entities in the 26 counties that Ohio EPA has identified as eligible to receive funds from the grant program. June 22, 2020 Ohio EPA Awards $795,000 in Grants to 46 Local Agencies for Mosquito Control
Forty-five local health departments and one sanitary district are sharing $795,070 in grant funding from Ohio EPA for mosquito control activities, including more than $139,000 to remove scrap tires, which can become breeding grounds for mosquito larvae. The funding will help mitigate the spread of mosquito-borne viruses such as Zika, West Nile and La Cross Encephalitis.
June 1, 2020 $12 Million in Volkswagen Settlement Grants Available
Ohio EPA is announcing that $12 million in Volkswagen settlement grants are now available to assist with replacing or repowering aging diesel fleet vehicles for emission reductions to comply with federal ozone standards. Eligible applicants include public and private fleet owners of school and transit buses, medium and heavy-duty trucks, switcher locomotives, and cargo handling equipment in airports, ports, and intermodal facilities.
March 19, 2020 Lake Erie Protection Fund Grants Available through Ohio Lake Erie Commission
The Ohio Lake Erie Commission announces applications are available for the Lake Erie Protection Fund Grant for projects in the Ohio Lake Erie watershed. Grants up to $50,000 will be considered during the current grant cycle. Applications are due May 1, 2020 with selections to be announced at the Ohio Lake Erie Commission meeting on June 17, 2020. Projects should address at least one of the Draft 2020 Lake Erie Protection & Restoration Plan Strategic Objectives.

January 31, 2020 Ohio EPA, ODOT Announce Diesel Emission Reduction Grants for Public Transit
The Ohio Diesel Emissions Reduction Grant (DERG) Program has awarded seven grants totaling almost $7 million for replacing 29 aging diesel transit buses with newer, cleaner diesel technology or alternative fuel technology. Nine of the new buses will be electric, 11 will be powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and nine powered by new cleaner diesel technology.
