Photos Chosen as Judges’ Favorites in 2021 ‘Life on Lake Erie’ Photo Contest
Out of 46 photographs submitted by amateur photographers, eight were recognized as judges’ favorites in the annual Life on Lake Erie photo contest. Each photographer was recognized during the Ohio Lake Erie Commission’s (OLEC) Sept. 3 meeting.
This year’s photos feature the variety of places and life that reflect Ohio’s Lake Erie. The winning photos can be found at the Ohio Lake Erie Commission website, www.lakeerie.ohio.gov.
“Congratulations to this year’s winning photographers who combined their photography skills with their enthusiasm for Lake Erie,” said Governor Mike DeWine. “Lake Erie is a special place for the people of Ohio, and the annual Life on Lake Erie photo contest is a good way to highlight how the lake makes Ohio a great place to live and visit.”
The winning photos also are featured in video available for viewing at: https://youtu.be/e9tl1dtBjoc.
OLEC sponsors the contest annually to encourage amateur photographers to share their pictures capturing the life on Lake Erie. This is the 29th year for the photo contest.
The photo contest aims to convey the “Life on Lake Erie” message of day-to-day lives of the people, plants, and animals that live and thrive in the Lake Erie watershed. Winning photos are featured in OLEC’s traveling photo gallery tour and will be viewed in Columbus at the Riffe Gallery Lobby from Sept. 14 through Oct. 21, and then other venues. Photos also may be featured in various state publications, promotional materials, and through OLEC social media outlets, including Facebook and Twitter.
OLEC is pleased to honor the 2021 photo winners.
