May 28, 2020 Study of Minor Great Black Swamp Tributaries Released
Today, Ohio EPA today released a study examining water and sediment chemistry, habitat, fish, and other aquatic life from 50 small streams that flow into the Maumee River in northwest Ohio. These small streams drain approximately 1,040 square miles in portions of Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, and Wood counties.

Today, Ohio EPA released the draft 2020 water quality report that outlines the general condition of Ohio’s waters and includes a list that identifies impaired waters that are not meeting their federal or state water quality goals, as well as waters that have improved to meet their goals.

Ohio EPA has begun a water quality study of select Maumee River basin tributaries in Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Paulding, Putnam and Wood counties. The Maumee River basin is one of the largest watersheds in Ohio, with dozens of smaller streams draining thousands of square miles of land in northwest Ohio.
